
TOKYO – Hillary Rodham Clinton chose Asia for her first trip abroad as secretary of state hoping to engage the continent on a wide range of global issues but North Korea is threatening to steal the show. She began a weeklong tour of Japan, Indonesia, South Korea and China in Tokyo on Monday with a pledge that the Obama administration would transform the traditional U.S.-Asia agenda into one that deals with climate change, clean energy and the worldwide financial crisis.
